City Services

City Utilities

Utility bills are sent monthly and include water, sewer and garbage. Water is sold by the cubic foot. Sewer is charged based on water usage. A drive-by fee of $3.75 plus tax is also charged per month for garbage service when you choose to use West Central Sanitation’s bags. If you use the carts you will be charged a flat monthly fee regardless of the number of times per month it is set out for pick-up. If you use the carts you will not be charged the drive-by fee.

Garbage & Recycling

Garbage is picked up every Thursday morning, curb side, and must be in West Central Sanitation garbage bags which are available at the City Clerk’s Office or from Cenex. You may also use West Central Sanitation’s garbage carts which come in 32, 64 or 96 gallons and the cost are $10.25, $13.25 or $16.25 plus tax per month respectively. Let Lori know at the City Clerk’s whether you prefer garbage bags or carts.

Recycling is picked up curb side, every other Thursday. The county provides every residence with a 96 gallon cart for recycling. All recyclables go in the same container without the need to sort.

Compost Site

The City of Belview has a compost site for your use. No plastic bags or boxes are allowed; only branches, trees and compost. The compost site is located on the south side of town on CSAH #9, just east of Parkview Nursing Home.

Emergency Services

The City of Belview is proud to have their own volunteer first responder service. If you are a certified first responder, EMT-B or greater and are interested in joining the squad or if you would be interested in taking the necessary course to become a first responder, contact Lori at the City Clerk’s Office. North Memorial Ambulance Service out of Redwood Falls is the ambulance service that covers the City of Belview.

Belview also has a very dedicated volunteer fire department. If you would like to join the department when an opening becomes available, and you are willing to take the required training, contact Fire Chief Robert Donner.

Belview Bulletin

The City of Belview puts out a monthly newsletter that is mailed with the city utility bill. Included in the newsletter are upcoming events, important notices and other items of interest. Past Belview Bulletins may be found HERE.
